Top Posts for June 2011

Wordle: JMS June Wordle

Once again, it’s amazing all the statistics that are out there for tracking blog traffic.  Below is a list of my top 5 blog posts receiving traffic in June:

1.  Bringing Consistency To My Blog

2.  Humorous Story of a Small Group Leader

3.  Zach’s Adventure (This was my favorite by my son, Isaac.)

4.  I Am A Runner

5.  Raising Kids to Work Together

I absolutely have been loving the dialogue that happens through the comments.  I’ve met some new people this month from all over the place.  And I’ve truly had a blast.  I’m looking forward to a new month in July.  As I’ve stated to many before, my blog is a place for me to process some of the things that are stretching me.  It’s nice to know that some of these thoughts may be helping others as well.

So here’s my question:  Do you blog?  What was your most followed blog post this month?  What was your favorite post this month?

I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Jon,
I’m enjoying your blog. My most popular blog was called Opening My Eyes (http://bit.ly/iCcD9x).

My favorite blog was probably Facing Your Fears (http://bit.ly/jQhVfw) or Humility: The path to contentment (http://bit.ly/iS8ASo).

  3. Hey Jon!

It’s been cool to see you involved in the blogging world, both on your own and in the “community” (like at thedailywalk.net). Love your posts and comments – keep up the good work!

If you are ever interested in stepping it up to the next level and getting your own domain name, let me know! I’d be happy to help if need any advice.

    • Craig, Thanks for the encouragement. And yes, I’d be interested in stepping it up to the next level with my own domain name. What can you tell me?

      • You’ll need to register your own domain name and purchase hosting (both are yearly costs, usually bundled if you use the same company), then if you need help installing WordPress I’d be happy to walk you through it to get set up. There is a bit more work involved in maintaining your site, since you would be responsible for upgrading WordPress and whatever plug-ins you use instead of WordPress.com doing it for you. But, if it’s something you’re interested in, it’s totally worth it for the freedom and control you have.

If you are also thinking about going with the “Standard Theme”, it’s on sale this weekend so I would recommend buying it now if you are thinking about using it. There is an affiliate link on my website that you can use, or just go straight to their website. It’s a really solid theme that’s also pretty easy to customize. Shoot me an email if you want to discuss it further! I can help you find the best hosting plan and get everything up and running pretty quickly.
