Jon Stolpe Stretched

What's S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g me now?

Renew My Strength

I’ll be honest, I didn’t sleep the greatest last night.  I think I had too many thoughts racing around in my head.  Whatever the case may be I’m feeling a bit tired this morning.  I was reminded of a passage that we read together as a family last night from Isaiah 40.  Today, I’m waiting on the Lord, the everlasting God, for renewal of my strength.  (A cup of coffee will probably help also.)

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

  2. I can identify with your weariness, Jon. I have been sitting here wondering if I should stay home from church tonight. But when I read your blog, it is an encouragement to me. May I also remember to wait on the Lord and He will renew my strength. Hope you have had a good day today. Love to all of you, Mom Stolpe
