My Treasure & My Heart
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Matthew 6:21
Where is my treasure?
Where is my heart?
I have lots of interests. I spend my time on lots of things. I work. I read. I blog. I run. I watch television. I eat. I sleep – some.
Do I devote the same amount of time, energy, and attention to the people and the things that mean the most to me? This is the question that stretches me. My God, my wife, and my kids deserve my focus.
This doesn’t mean that I can’t have interests and hobbies. But I must always keep these things in check.
Stretch on…!
How about you? Do you know where your priorities should be? How do they match up with reality?
(Please add your comment, and remember to come back tomorrow for a great guest post by Jonathan Pearson!)

Jon, I think that is a constant battle.
I agree. I’m battling, and it’s worth it!
Can I have my toes back? I think one stuck to the bottom of your shoe when you stepped on them. Great post. This is a battle that I don’t always win.
I didn’t mean to cause any damage. It’s just where I’ve been stretching and wrestling lately. If it helps you too, that is great! Hope your toes are okay!
I am soooo jealous of that picture…drooling….lol….
I took this picture this summer in Martha’s Vineyard. I believe the light house hangs for what are called The Painted Cliffs.
Yea Jon, great picture and all, but why the continuous dandruff falling across my screen when i go to your site? And no it’s not me. i don’t have enough hair.
I think that’s only happening on your screen. Maybe you should check your head!
Actually, it’s snow. It’s a snow app that will run until early January. Enjoy!
The snow is awesome! I love this feature!
Very good message. That is certainly true!
Wonderful thoughts and reminder. I have been re-focusing on my priority’s, which are God and family.
Intersting and timely.
I was thinking at lunch today how I tend to get too deep into my work, passions, and projects at times. This seems to cut out time wiht my wife. Guilt is following me around.
It may be time for a seperation from so much time devoted to growing my blog and tribe. Or maybe… there may be a better balance of both.
I am seeking advice from anyone on this blog interested in offering up ideas. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment, and welcome to The Stretched Community! I hope you’ll stop back and comment regularly.
As for advice, I’m still trying to figure it out myself. I’ll try to post along these lines as I figure it out. Until then, I keep stretching!
